Over the last few decades, the video game market has evolved by leaps and bounds. What started with games with simple controls like the atari have evolved into more complex and immersive experiences with engaging storytelling intended to be as close to reality as possible.
Thanks to the growing market demand, the need for new talents to develop novel and profound experiences that captivate the public has become necessary. Thus, as the complexity of games has changed, their development needs more specialized skills. This is why high education centers completely focused on the field have been born.
Who is Gaming Campus?
With the mission to train the talents of tomorrow, from the heart of the city of light, Paris, was born in (2021) the Gaming Capus Ecole, one of the best video game education centers in France. The gaming campus has a global approach to the video games field, gathering three schools with different approaches in the field:
G Tech (Computer developer): develop the code that brings video games to life.
G BS (Business): focus on business aspects & the video game and esports professions.
G Art (Graphic design): shape virtual world design in 2D/3D dimensions.
With the support of more than 200 video game companies, Gaming Campus offers a multidisciplinary training experience.
About the Collaboration with Actronika
As October begins, we welcome a partnership with GTech School to bring to life immersive video games using haptic technology. Over a school year, four groups of students will have as a project the development of mods compatible with the haptic vest, Skinetic. To achieve this, Actronika will provide Skinetic units and, along with them, the use of the haptic design software Unitouch Studio.
To ensure the smooth running of the project, experts from our team will give workshops on haptic technology and its potential in immersion and experience design for a better understanding of the topic. In addition, students will learn in-depth about Skinetic & the Unitouch Studio tools.
What haptics bring to the Gaming industry?
There has been no turning back since the creation of virtual reality headsets. Users are increasingly demanding more authentic experiences, and this is where immersive technologies such as haptics play a crucial role. Integrating haptics into VR gaming experiences improves player immersion and engagement by making them feel 'living' the game. With the Skinetic haptic vest, more than just a simple rumble, users will feel over 200 high-definition sensations, giving a more realistic notion of interaction with virtual environments.
